The OBA would like to pay tribute to the magnificent efforts of the charity “42 for 42” who have brought to fruition the beautiful Afghanistan Memorial Garden in the grounds of the Anglican Church right next to the southern side of Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
The Garden is a place of reflection which honours, by individual plaques, the 41 men who died in Afghanistan including our own Ric Milosevic. The 42nd plaque is dedicated to all those that were killed in training or have subsequently taken their own lives due to issues from their service.
When next time in the vicinity, Old Boys are encouraged to visit and reflect on the sacrifices these great men made.
The Garden now joins with the ‘Avenue of Honour’ in Yungaburra Far North Queensland as places of tribute to our Afghanistan heroes.
