Much will be written of his exploits as a Wallaby but there is no doubt the toughness was bred out of the ferocious battles of the two brothers, Ashgrove and Rosalie, in the 1960’s.
The Crest of Rosa now sits proudly at its new home at the entry to the Cyprian Pavilion at Ashgrove – named in honour of the legendary Headmaster of both schools. The irreplaceable Stan Pilecki, the big Pole, was a frequent visitor to the Cyprian in recent years to catch up with old mates at the Vintage Lunches.
But way, way beyond his Wallaby exploits, he will forever hold the No1 loose head prop position in the All Time Australian All Marist XV. Selection only open to legends. You just can’t do better than that.
All Ashgrove and Rosa Old Boys salute this Marist legend. ‘Age Quod Agis’
