Bred out of Joeys and it was to there he would return for so much of his teaching life.
A magnificent educator who influenced so many young lives and coached not only premiership First XV rugby sides but representative school boy teams at NSW and Australian level.
Properly recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia for his contribution to secondary education, the Ashgrove Old Boys pay tribute to Brother Anthony Boyd FMS, Joeys Old Boy, for all of many accomplishments. Always done with the greatest of humility.
There has been but only one thing denied him – the opportunity to coach one of those sublime Ashgrove Rugby teams he so admired from a distance. How much he would have loved that. Fear not Brother, coaching at Joeys in the halcyon days was just as good – nearly.
The Ashgrove Old Boys send their very best wishes to you. So richly deserved.
