Daphne was a delightful lady with a magical smile and a big heart. I remember her so well. She was one of those Ashgrove super mums.
Although a Queenslander in so many ways she had chosen to move to the Little Sisters of the Poor aged care at Randwick in Sydney. She loved them dearly, had great confidence in them and they reciprocated with great care and great love. This indeed has always been a trademark of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Daphne was one of those magnificent Marist mothers at the College who was always there when the Marist family swung into action.
There was a large crowd and a wonderful spirit in the chapel for the funeral Mass. The eulogy was presented by her children Carmel, Margie and Neil. It was a moving and humorous tribute to Daphne. It all blended beautifully with a delightful slide presentation of Daphne’s life. It was a privilege to be there.
