GEOFF MOON’S 43 YR OLD 1500M RECORD FINALLY FALLS.

It was the longest standing, and greatest, record in any Ashgrove sport.

In 1979, the unmatchable Geoff Moon (1979) just tore up the track to record an incredible 4m 03.50 for the Open 1500 metres athletics – a record which has stood for an entire generation.

On Saturday night, some 43 years on, Thomas Prole (2022), son of OB Bill Prole (1987), simply ran into history by recording a majestic 3m 58.96. The ‘4-minute barrier’ and Geoff’s record went all in one go ! Like all true Old Boys, Geoff would be the very first to congratulate Thomas.

The entire Ashgrove community salutes Geoff Moon for his fabulous record and congratulates young Thomas for achieving one of the greatest milestones in Ashgrove athletics history.

Viriliter Age !
