The Canadian rugby team, currently ranked 23rd in the world, is intensifying its efforts to qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. With a wealth of experience, Steve Meehan (1983) has been appointed as the head coach of Les Rouges, starting in 2025.

Steve expressed these sentiments on his appointment: “This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the next chapter for Canada’s rugby team and guide the program into the future. I see great potential in the players and I look forward to the role I can play to help grow the team and our sport across Canada.”

The Old Boys send their congratulations to Steve Meehan (1983). Steve becomes the third Old Boy after Des Connor(1953), Wallabies Coach 68-69 and John Connolly (1969), Wallabies Coach 2006-07, to be appointed the Head Coach of an international Men’s team in the 15-man game. Another superb effort!
