Ashgrove Old Boy and 9 News Weekend Sports Presenter, Michael Atkinson, is taking on harsh conditions, extreme temperatures and endless sand dunes to raise funds and awareness for Youngcare.
Over 9 days in May, Michael and 13 other brave trekkers will walk more than 250 kilometres through the Simpson Desert to raise funds for thousands of young Australians living with high care needs.
Michael (2005) will be assisted by fellow Old Boys Tony Hogarth (1976), Graham Rynders (1975) and Trek Leader Mark Foley (1976) on the arduous journey. True Ashgrovians.
