The Old Boys congratulate Dr Kevin Vandeleur (1969) on being made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the recent Australia Day Honours List.

In addition to being one of Australia’s leading ophthalmologists and a very, very proud Ashgrovian, Kev is renowned for his selfless philanthropic work in leading teams of volunteers (including fellow OBs Bill Watson and Peter Stewart) to remote areas of East Timor, Myanmar, Cambodia and Kiribati to perform critical eye surgery on the poorest members of society.

A  dedicated but humble Ashgrovian, a true Son of Champagnat, and not to mention a very handy opening batsmen, we all give thanks for Kev’s dedication to others. A more detailed story on Kev’s achievements will be in the June Ashgrovian.
