Bond Uni Bull Sharks edged out Brothers 27-25 in a thrilling 2025 Hospital Cup Grand Final on August 31 — and leading the charge was none other than coaching legend Mick Heenan (’90)!
With 7 Grand Final wins, Mick is officially the most successful coach in QLD Premier Rugby history. He transformed UQ Rugby into a powerhouse with 10 GF appearances in 14 years, breaking a 20-year drought in 2010 — just a year after taking over a team that had only won 3 games.
In 2024, he brought that magic to Bond, and now the Gold Coast is back on top for the first time since 2004! 💥
