No sport loves its history and its stats more. And some cricket records just live forever. The Don’s 99.94 average. Bill Ponsford’s and Don Bradman’s 2nd wicket record of 451. Simpson and Lawry’s 382 in Bridgetown in 1965. And Matt Hayden’s and Lee Carseldine’s fourth wicket stand of 314 for Valleys in 1995 which in turn broke the record (300) set by the MacDonald Brothers in 1898. Yes 1898 !

That was until Ashgrove Old Boys Josh Neill (2015) and Dylan McLachlan (2016) recently just batted and batted and batted to grind out an astonishing 324 for the 3rd wicket against Toombul.

The greatest First Grade Valley DCC partnership for any wicket in its 125 year history.

What can we say boys. Take a bow.
