Old Boys, our humility prevents us from ordaining Ashgrove’s Music Program the finest in Australia.

Best just to let the results from 2022 speak for themselves. AJ Hall became the first ever Ashgrovian to appear at the legendary Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK and 9 of our young old boys  (2022) are off to the Queensland Conservatorium of Music or to study music at UQ or QUT. Magic.

But the Big Guy and Head of Music, Dr Andrew Joseph Butt, was not going to let his young protégés steal all the glory. Pulling out his beloved Sax, in late December, the Maestro dazzled a sell out crowd at the world famous Woodford Folk Festival with two breathtaking performances.

The Old Boys congratulate the jewel in the crown which is the Ashgrove music department and all of those dedicated tutors. And The Maestro. 2023 awaits. Onwards and upwards.
