The Brisbane Lions were wearing their specially designed indigenous jerseys on Saturday night against Hawthorn at the Gabba. So a very proud indigenous Old Boy, Charlie Cameron, invited the entire school to come and watch.
And Ashgrove, in response, never forgets its Old Boys. At three quarter time, with the match on an absolute knife edge, the Ashgrove lads took to the field to some provide personal inspiration for Charlie in the home leg.
And didn’t he respond. Typically unselfish and inspirational play saw Charlie guide the Lions to an unforgettable victory. And the cheer squad returned home happy.
He then joined the boys for the School song Sub Tuum
